Meet Dane Bailey The Singing Auctioneer
In 1969 Dane originally from Berne, IN was called to the ministry and moved to Winona Lake, IN. In 1975 he started attending Grace Theological Seminary. Not having been involved in music in college or thinking about music as a ministry, he was surprised when singing opportunities began to come his way, and the rest is history. Today, Dane, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a full time singer and recording artist with a rich history of music and ministry. He has been traveling, ministering, and entertaining at churches, conferences, conventions, fairs, festival, campgrounds, banquets, and restaurants, as well as appearing on radio and television. He also traveled with a quartet for approximately four years in the late 80's.
In 2001, Dane was able to take another step his music career by being full time as a singer/recording artist. He now travels throughout the United States doing over one hundred dates and covering approximately 20,000 miles a year. At this time, Dane has 8 recordings and a live concert video to his credit. 5 of them, "Touch Of The Master's Hand," "One More Time," "The Sketch," "Old Hymns And Favorites," and his 2007 release on the New City Record label, "What's In Your Heart," are southern gospel projects. Believing that laughter is medicine from God, Dane recorded an all comedy project, "Laughin' Time" to help heal the spirit. Christmas 2006 was special. He was invited to sing in the Pageant of Peace, with Gerald and Tanny Jackson of Seattle, Wa., held annually at the National Christmas Tree on the ellipse in in front of the White House. This opportunity also netted the "Live at Christmas" recording.
2008 is proving to be a big year for Dane. With many requests and the growing opportunities for marketplace ministry, He has just finished a big band project, "Coast To Coast' and another project to be released at the same time titled "Just Singin." This is a collection of music Dane has been singing for some time and includes songs like "Unforgettable," "Long Black Train," and "God Bless The USA." He has also had the song "I've Had A Wonderful Life" from What's In Your Heart CD, chart #55 on the Christian Voice Magazine top 100 chart.
His broad mix of music with Southern Gospel, many big band standards, country, comedy, and music for all the special times of year such as Christmas, Valentines, Patriotic, etc. helps Dane to present a program for many different types of venues who want entertainment that is wholesome, inspirational, challenging, or a worship experience with a high standard of performance as an endorsed artist with Christian Music Presenters.
Dane is a "real, for sure" professional auctioneer. A growing part of his travels include entertaining and auctioning for a variety of organizations. He has helped raise money for churches, missions, fire departments, schools, and many other organizations. He comes to entertain as well as auction keep your event lively and fun. A growing number of his concerts especially with churches, include and pie and cake auction. Read what Pastor Ron Holder of the First Church of God, Eustis, Florida had to say of their experience; “Last Sunday evening, we had one of the most delightful times in our recent history. We first enjoyed a tremendous concert by Dane Bailey, “The Singing Auctioneer.” This was his first time here, but I sincerely hope not the last. I recommend “The Singing Auctioneer” to any group desiring to have a good worship experience. His song “The Touch Of The Master’s Hand” was well worth the whole evening. I further recommend that you have Dane do an auction afterwards. We had a “pie and cake” auction after the concert and what a tremendous time. Not only did we raise money for a good cause, but the fun and fellowship was worth more than money could buy.” This is now an annual event now that has been taking place for the last 5 years and as Ron says, "It is the highlight of our year."
Dane is a partner in the Martin and Bailey Auction Realty Company in Fort Wayne, IN, a real estate broker, and a graduate and instructor at Reppert's School of Auctioneering, Auburn, IN, where is is the voice care and vocal training instructor and also one of the bid calling instructors. Dane attended Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary and is a graduate of Tri-State University.
As one whom God called to the ministry, Dane comes with a sincere desire to encourage you and to challenge you in your daily walk with the Lord, and to be used however and wherever God leads. Dane's challenge has become one of market place ministry. He has been further challenged by Matt. 13:3 which says, "Behold, the sower went out and sowed." This has worked to broaden my vision and to open doors of opportunity for ministry by living my testimony and sharing the Good News when the doors open. Testimony in a nutshell Or Why I'm still here.
Ask Jesus into my heart at the age of 5. Normal growing up for the most part. Attended Grace College 1 year. Graduated from Tri-State University in '68. Called to the ministry in '69. Moved back to Warsaw to attend school in '69. Finally started Seminary at Grace in '75. Had no clue what I was studying for, just knew I was called to the ministry. Had been doing some traveling with a friend doing some singing. Did my first solo concert with a fellow student playing piano in the fall of '75. I have continued in this ministry although I have quit many times, but The Lord keeps me singing and I do consider it to be a privilege to do so. God is good all the time!
